Solihull/London (11/10/18) UK Power Reserve has been named as a finalist in the Achievement in Developing and Promoting Women category in the 15th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business and will ultimately be a Gold, Silver or Bronze Award winner.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honour women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners will be announced during a gala event at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in New York on Friday, November 16. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend.
More than 1,500 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year.
UK Power Reserve’s entry draws on the work carried out by Power Up, an internal committee to both promote and empower the diverse workforce we have. The UK’s leading flexibility provider uses rapid response gas engines to support the rising role of renewables on the grid.
“In its fifteenth year, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business received a record number of nominations. With the new Women|Future Conference preceding the announcement of winners on November 16, it will be a day to celebrate the achievements of working women around the world,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards. “We’re looking forward to recognizing the Stevie Award winners next month.”
Julie Sutton, Corporate Business Services Director, added “We are thrilled to have our hard work recognised by the Stevie Awards. As Co-chair of our Power Up committee, I’m regularly impressed by the attitudes of all employees to support their colleagues and generate ideas to make the company more inclusive. The energy sector has a reputation for being a male dominated industry, but the diversity of our workforce highlights the sector is diversifying. The sector is undergoing great change – to a low carbon mix and a more diverse workforce. We are proud of our contribution and the efforts of the broader energy industry.
